2021.10.28 02:04 Starwarsmofo9029 Are there any reports/statistics relating to lifetime maintenance costs of German made cars vs Japanese made cars?

If so, can someone please post the link here? I have been looking for a while and cannot find anything. I'm assuming I'm looking in the wrong places, because surely this data exists somewhere?
I'm not all that savvy with cars, but I obviously know ye ol' common knowledge about how the German made cars are more expensive to maintain than the Japanese made cars.
I'm just not sure if there has been a misinterpretation by the general public regarding the word "maintenance".
I view the maintenance costs of a car as being the ability to preserve it over however long I keep the car. Perhaps even the lifetime of the car I guess.
However, I wonder if people mix up "maintenance" with "repair". As in, if one single repair costs twice as much to fix on a German car as it would on a Japanese car, they then consider the Japanese car less expensive to "maintain". Yet perhaps that repair done on the German car might need to be done a lot less frequently than the Japanese one and therefore, overtime, cost less for the German one.
Basically I'm not sure if the frequency of repairs in German cars is less or not, and whether or not their parts, on average, are a lot more durable than Japanese cars. Which could lead to lower maintenance costs overall, but higher repair costs per repair.
If anyone has insight into this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I miss the RZ67 that I used to have, but the prices on those have gone up way too high.
I don't mind if the body has signs of use, but hoping to have a clean lens. Budget is around $800.

2021.10.28 02:04 TheVoiceless101 A Note to AoE 2 Stans. Arrow dodging /= micro!

Every single AoE 2 player is in the comments of every AoE 4 stream, even pro players saying stuff like "I can't dodge arrows so there's no micro". Starcraft (1 or 2) is THE most micro heavy RTS of all time. Also doesn't have dodgeable projectiles. In fact pretty much No RTS EXCEPT AoE 2 has ever had dodgeable projectiles. These things are not the same. Unit counters, activated abilities, and formations all require micro. Just because it's not the same micro trick as one game from 22 years ago doesn't mean it's not there.

2021.10.28 02:04 whatcenturyisit How narrow can a double barrel cake be?

Hi all,
I want to make a double barrel cake for my SO's bday. We'll be about 15 people so I thought a 5" diameter cake would work. But I'm worried it'll be to narrow for the height (probably 8 to 10") and not stable enough. Do you think 5" wide will work or do you think it should be minimum 6" wide ? (I will definitely use support in the cake no matter what).
Alternatively I was thinking of using a 6" wide cake dummy and a real cake. A 6" wide / 8" tall cake would be way too much cake, that's why I want to scale down without sacrificing the look of an extra tall cake if possible.
What's your opinion?
Thank you for your help !
