2021.10.28 01:23 Sammy-Lynx Lots of different kinds of opponents

That require you to learn their specific movements in order to defeat them efficiently? Imo the opposite of variety is HZD or Dead Space and maybe even Skyrim if you concider the fact most big battles are dragons and they all move pretty much the same.

2021.10.28 01:23 sunflowerisland Taxes Really Suck!

I think I just need a space to vent but I'm depressed looking at my pay stub where I lose over $1600 to taxes, medicare, etc a month.. and for what? Like honestly, will I even get the chance to retire? Will I ever own a home, in this economy!?!
Does anyone else think about where that money could go to? Like I get WHY we pay some of these things but then I don't get it. Can I opt out of this paid family leave tax?! I don't even want to have kids!!
Ugh whatever. Being an adult really freaking sucks.

2021.10.28 01:23 HereIamstanding Selling an extra VIP Telepath package for the Vancouver show on 05/07/22!!!!

Title says it all, and for $216. However I'm really trying to avoid scammers so if anyone has tips on how I can best sell it to someone whose actually going to go and not just snag the ticket and re-sell it at higher price please comment below! Also, do you think when selling tickets, I should send the recipient the ticket before they pay, or should they pay me first before I send them the ticket?

2021.10.28 01:23 mister_filmmaker How do I become a journalist on my own?

25 years old. I actually want to be a fiction writer but for the sake of broadening my perspective, understanding of the world and the human behaviour, I wanted to get into journalism. I was offered a job at a major newspaper in my country but since it was because of referral of someone I know personally, I didn't wanted to risk doing it. He said it himself that if I leave 6 months or 1 year in, it would make him look bad. So there was that pressure. I know about the long hours and horrible pay. The stress is bad. So I don't even know if I want to do this full time. Or for my entire life.
What should I do on my own to become a journalist? I want to try and see if this profession is for me. I am already working at Bosch as a content writer. They pay me well but the job isn't exactly exciting.

I see a pretty common theme online for why entry level jobs require experience. There are a definitely a ton of reasons why this is, but a lot of it can be misleading.
First - most people don't realize that the experience requirements on job advertisements, in most cases, can be flexible. If you have one or two years of experience in a field, compared to three, certainly apply. I would say if your experience is applicable, and your resume highlights your experience well, you'll probably get a call back if they don't already have other candidates they're considering. The other piece to this - if a job requires X experience, and you don't have direct experience, but you have RELATABLE experience, still apply. Related experience is still valid, and as long as you're able to sell your skills, you should eventually land somewhere in the field you want to be in, unless it's highly specialized and you have zero experience.

Second - entry level in one area could mid level in another area. For example, a mid level employee at a smaller startup company may only be considered entry level at a larger, more established and in general, higher level company. The analogy used in my video: a CEO of a smaller startup with 50 employees and $10M in revenue yearly would not be a CEO of a larger company with 10,000 employees and $10B of revenue yearly (just as an example). That CEO of a smaller company may be a senior manager or an AVP of a division instead. Larger companies need more skills because of higher demand, and therefore, entry level would mean something different. That's entry level for THEIR company. So keep this in mind when applying. If it's your first job in the field that you want to be in, start small.

For those of you who are out of school and have no applicable experience - this is the same advice I've given clients of mine. Swallow your pride, take a lower level role to start your career, learn, and you'll grow quickly if you put in the work. An education is not a meal ticket to a good career.
